Hello!
I’m new here and have a quick building question:
We are starting construction of our single-family house in October. The house has 50cm (20 inches) brick walls and no mechanical ventilation system. We recently had a free energy consultation, and the consultant said that the back wall (north) and side wall (west) of the living room (where the couch is planned) are very poor in terms of energy efficiency and will always develop mold.
She suggested that the door to the office should be moved from the right side to the left side, and the couch then placed on the right side, which would supposedly solve the problem.
Is there any “expert” here who is familiar with this topic? It seems a bit too risky to change the plans now based on just one opinion.
Thank you very much in advance
Best regards, Philipp

Is this serious?
At the beginning, you should avoid placing the sofa directly against the wall, but other than that, I don't understand the statement.
However, I would question the size of the living room again (although that’s difficult without knowing the rest of the house).

Hello! The size of the living room is okay for us. The kitchen and dining area total 33 m2 (355 sq ft). The energy consultant mentioned that there is a water vein beneath, which could cause mold. She said we might not feel comfortable because the wall would constantly emit cold radiation. Best regards

What exactly were the qualifications of the energy consultant?
