ᐅ Empty conduit for telecommunications?

Hello, the company Nibler is installing the telephone connection to our house on behalf of the telecom provider.

Our idea was to have a conduit or empty duct installed along with the telephone cable, so that if fiber optic cables are laid in the street in the future, the conduit could be used to extend the connection directly to the house.

Now it seems we might be the only people on the planet who want this, and the company won’t just do it as a matter of course. We would have to buy the conduit ourselves.

Does anyone have experience with this?

For us, the concrete contractor installed the empty conduits under the slab, the extension a few meters away from the house, and then later, the electrician routed them through the slab into the utility room. The rest was done by the telecom/provider.

It is too late to install an empty conduit through the foundation slab; I assumed there would be a multi-utility entry for such purposes.

I found flexible cable protection conduits for underground installation online, but what is commonly used as an "empty conduit"? What diameter should it have?

A standard PE pipe 80/100 DN50 or d63 is more than sufficient. Weld end caps on both sides, and that's all you need. If the telecom provider doesn’t approve, ask the utility company for such a pipe; it usually comes in blue or orange.
