Our idea was to have a conduit or empty duct installed along with the telephone cable, so that if fiber optic cables are laid in the street in the future, the conduit could be used to extend the connection directly to the house.
Now it seems we might be the only people on the planet who want this, and the company won’t just do it as a matter of course. We would have to buy the conduit ourselves.
Does anyone have experience with this?

Telecommunications was not an issue; the cable was routed through the multi-service inlet into the utility room and from there to the distribution panel.
It is standard practice, even in 2016, to properly install a telephone connection in any house, no matter how inexpensive.
The cable provider initially quoted exorbitant prices, then withdrew entirely.
Of course, fiber optic will eventually be installed.
I had basic wiring for it installed inside the house at my own expense as a precaution.
This costs a negligible amount relative to the overall house price.
My advice: invest a few dollars and have the empty conduits installed at your own cost. The disputes with your builder will cost you more in nerves than the small amount of money involved.
Best regards,
Thorsten

What should an empty conduit look like? How do I connect it to the multi-utility entry point? How should it be laid at the street to ensure it can be easily found if needed?

We are going through the same process. The main entry through the wall will be handled by the telecom provider. Everything else needs to be prepared on-site—for example, a conduit through the concrete slab. The connection to the street is also done by the telecom provider. The path in between must be leveled by us. The telecom does not mind whether it is a conduit or a manhole. If it is a conduit, it should be about 50mm (2 inches).
