Hello,
we have been living near Lausanne, Switzerland, for a while now and are considering buying a house. We have already seen quite a few and unfortunately realized that renovation is unavoidable.
The work mostly involves “small jobs,” but we are sometimes shocked by the prices charged by local companies.

Work we need help with:
- New kitchen
- New bathroom
- New plastering
- Laying parquet flooring
- Interior and exterior painting
- General carpentry work

We are very familiar with the prices of many companies in Germany and the possibilities there to employ temporary workers from the EU region for a few weeks. The prices are significantly lower than what is offered here in Lausanne. Therefore, I wanted to ask if it is possible to bring companies from Germany to Switzerland, for example, to renovate 5 bathrooms in a house, or if it would be legal to hire a single person from the EU for “simpler” but extensive work, such as painting an entire 250m2 (2700 sq ft) apartment for 2 months. I want everything to be 100% legal and covered by insurance, and I would like to know how to proceed with this.

Has anyone here done something similar before or can provide advice on how to properly register this kind of work in Switzerland?

Thank you very much
Goldhammer
