ᐅ Elevator in a Single-Family Home – Is Concern About Excessive Air Draft Justified?

We are planning to install an elevator in our new single-family house. However, from my experience at work, strong winds can cause drafts through the elevator shaft, which naturally creates a whistling noise. I am now concerned that we might have the same issue in our future home. Is this worry justified? Can anyone share their insights? Thank you!

Thank you. I like it very much. The garage is probably on the north side?

Correct, the garage is located on the north side. The large terrace facing the garden is on the southwest side, and the smaller terrace facing east is intended as a retreat from potentially strong midsummer afternoon sun, or to enjoy the morning sun.
The issue with the basement stairway access in the storage room behind the garage is not fully resolved yet. By installing a restroom on the exterior wall, the stairway shifted toward the garage, and the landing area in the basement, or the basement entrance, would partially sit under the garage. I’m not sure if that’s allowed. I need to clarify this first.

Nice planning. That will definitely add up to quite a few square meters (square feet), right?

Thank you very much for the compliments! *happy* Yes, 150m² (1,615 sq ft) plus garage and storage room.

150 sqm (1,615 sq ft) per level, so 300 sqm (3,230 sq ft) plus basement and "others." Not bad 😀

May I ask about the purpose of the elevator? It can’t be for wheelchair accessibility, as the overall design does not really support that.
