Hello everyone,

we would like to include an elevator in our single-family home.
In our current plans, we have allocated a shaft with a floor area of 1 sqm (11 sq ft).
To anyone with experience in this area: we appreciate any constructive advice.

Thank you very much! Alex

1 sq meter (10.8 sq ft) is the absolute minimum for so-called home lifts. However, if the lift is also intended for transporting a wheelchair or an assistant, a floor space of 1.5 m x 1.2 m (5 ft x 4 ft) is recommended.

Unfortunately, I cannot see anything in your attachment.
If the elevator is going to have the standard size of 110 x 140 cm (43 x 55 inches), the shaft’s internal dimensions need to be 30 cm (12 inches) larger on each side. So, the shaft size would be 140 x 170 cm (55 x 67 inches). Of course, there are also custom-made elevators.
You can check out the Austrian company Acendor Lifttechnik, where you can find all variations shown on their website, and after their holiday break on January 7th, they will also offer very good advice.

Congratulations!
Although I would like to explicitly exclude the idea of this elevator and its *ahem* "integration," in my opinion the overall conceptual evolution of the design has made a significant leap forward.
