Good morning,

how much importance do you actually place on the electricity consumption of large electrical appliances in your home?

For example, if I can save around 200€ when purchasing, I keep reconsidering it.

Normally, I do pay attention to that, except for my refrigerator, which is a really big unit. It has an ice maker and a crusher, etc. It’s an awesome appliance but probably uses twice as much energy.

For the washing machine and dryer, I looked at the electricity consumption as well as the price. It shouldn’t be disproportionately expensive.

I don’t care at all. Let my appliances consume as much as they want. I still believe that it’s not electricity that’s expensive, but gas. Whether I pay 100€ more or less for electricity per year hardly makes a difference.

I do think it’s important to pay attention to this, even if it doesn’t bother you to pay a bit more. You also need to consider your children, who will still be living in this world, and with climate change, each of us should be careful about how much electricity we use.

..that was Sascha’s word for Sunday. I actually think it’s nonsense; a lot more needs to change. Besides, I prefer it when it’s a bit warmer in the summer.

Are you crazy???? Just a bit warmer... Do you like storm surges and organ damage? I don’t! There still needs to be a lot more done, but we have to start somewhere, and power plants emit quite a lot of CO2.
