Good morning everyone,
I wanted to ask what your house’s electricity consumption is at night when everything is quiet and sleeping, so what is running continuously?
We have a newly built house, moved in summer 2019. Our building services include underfloor heating (air-to-water heat pump), controlled mechanical ventilation (runs at full power 3 times a day for 2 hours each, then reduced), a photovoltaic system, and otherwise the usual nighttime appliances (phone charger plugged into USB outlet, e-bikes charging occasionally, 2 TVs on standby, Alexas on standby, etc.).
At night, we have a continuous consumption of about 232W (with ventilation running at reduced power and when the heat pump is not producing). I can see this in the app for the photovoltaic system. From 0:00 to 6:30 a.m. we consume about 2.8 kWh.
How about you?
Best regards

Just before the crash, I sold most of my mining equipment and still keep a few in-game coins. In December 2018, I closed my business since it had been milked enough.
I sold all my mining hardware and scaled back.
It’s possible to live well from it.
Regarding the accusations about GPU prices, I prefer not to comment. Radeons, right?

The warranty is sometimes up to 25 years. Usually, 80% of the output is guaranteed after that period. I have even seen modules with 85-87% output after 30 years. That is definitely very interesting. Maybe I should take another look into this topic. I could be comfortable with 80% output after up to 15 years.
I just need to figure out how many kWp would be optimal for me.

Radeons, right?Yes, there were also a "few" of those. They were simply the best for Cryptonight coins :P, but there were also a "few" GTX cards, you had to diversify quite a bit.Dogma schrieb:

My parents' system is still producing more than forecast in its 19th year.

I am a bit of a neurotic fresh air fanatic (quote from my wife) and have a full-blown mold phobia. But even I think this statement is exaggerated. Just run the mechanical ventilation system on level 2 during the first winter, and the moisture constantly leaves the house. Because of the very short construction period, we still have a lot of moisture in the solid structure, but thanks to the mechanical ventilation, the humidity stays consistently in the safe range.
To be on the safe side with drying the building, I’m now turning the heating up by one degree in the first autumn/winter and have not installed an enthalpy exchanger in the mechanical ventilation system yet. But the windows have basically stayed closed permanently since mid-September, except for the warm roof space, which is not connected to the ventilation system. There, I can see how the construction moisture raises the indoor humidity if I don’t ventilate regularly. My last post was before the move, and now we have been in the new house since Friday.
The mechanical ventilation system is definitely one of the top 3 “nice-to-have things that we spent money on.”
When we took the first shower, we kept the window closed and wanted to see how it would perform – the exhaust air is just amazing. Overall – even going back to the bedroom in the morning without thinking “ugh, stale air,” there is just always pleasantly fresh air everywhere. So far, 10/10, would buy again.
I also feel like the ventilation is effectively removing the construction moisture. When we entered the house before starting up the system, after 2 days there was condensation on the inside of the windows. We don’t have that anymore, and overall it feels like a good indoor climate. Let’s see how it goes from here.
