Hey,

there is a last-minute appointment with the electrician the day after tomorrow, on Wednesday.

Please give me some tips on what to watch out for, what to discuss, or similar.

Thanks!

Enough power outlets.
Ask whether double outlets (or even more side-by-side) are more cost-effective – two outlets next to each other can be installed faster than two in different corners.
Discuss the kitchen – some appliances require individual circuit protection. This is usually not included and costs extra.
Don’t forget outdoor cables.
Thermostat position… with acquaintances, they were actually installed below the switches at 90cm (35 inches). I think that looks quite unattractive.
Switch system?
If any light fixture should be dimmable, don’t let anyone convince you to use those rotary knobs...
Satellite system?
A network outlet on the upper floor for a repeater.
Flush-mounted cable duct at the TV wall and possibly in the bedroom.
Do you want something in the direction of “smart home” or entirely conventional?
Central control switch for roller shutters, so all shutters open/close at once. I’m glad to only have to press one button in the evening instead of going through every room, but that’s a personal preference.

Yes, I’m really curious about the outlet situation. If having them side by side isn’t cheaper, I plan to mostly keep the included ones spread out and have a separate electrician install additional outlets nearby. At least that’s the plan for now.

I was thinking of placing the thermostat above the switch, with some distance between them.

Alexa control is still being considered. I’ve already received a recommendation for the Shelly 1 (or something like that). If I understand correctly, this allows for lower-profile flush-mounted spots compared to the Hue GU10 bulbs.

For the network in the attic hallway, yes, that’s also an idea to possibly install a “UFO” (ceiling device) powered via Ethernet.

There are only three electric roller shutters in the living/kitchen area. They will all get a switch near the living room door. Automating them using a Shelly switch together with Alexa should also be possible.

Think about the natural daily routines in the house, especially regarding the switches. This really helps a lot.

Print out the floor plan and initially mark all the outlets and switches as if there were no cost involved. This will make you think about what you really want in certain areas. By doing this, you’ve already put some thought into it and won’t find yourself telling the electrician, “we’re not sure yet, we’ll get back to you on that.”

Otherwise, almost everything has already been said. What I would still recommend is to take notes whenever you decide to make changes based on the electrician’s suggestions. Of course, you will receive the updated plans after the meeting and will need to approve them, but these can be difficult for non-professionals to understand. Depending on the electrician, there may be a few weeks between the meeting and receiving the plans. With all the different symbols, it’s easy to forget why certain changes were made.

Also consider exterior lighting, or keep potential future holiday lighting in mind.

House number lighting in addition to the entrance light.

Floor socket for Christmas tree.

More wall lighting instead of ceiling lights.

Outdoor lighting with 5-core cable, if motion sensors are planned.

LAN outlet in a concealed location for Wi-Fi access point router.

Bathroom and mirror lighting as well as dining area lighting dimmable, possibly also the kitchen.

Plan for indirect mood lighting (switchable sockets).

High-voltage cable in the garage for e-mobility (prepare).
