my electrician has never had to prepare the electrical connection for a kitchen island before.
How was it installed in your case? Were outlets mounted inside the cabinets, or were the individual components wired through junction boxes, or supplied via a loose cable with a socket beneath the kitchen unit?
I appreciate any tips, pictures are also welcome.

We have two “thick” cables for the induction cooktop (cooker cable) and three cables sized 3x2.5mm² for outlets. One is for the range hood, one for LED lighting, and one as a spare (we initially planned for pop-up outlets but decided against it). So, we simply screwed three surface-mounted boxes inside a cabinet (not very neat but it doesn’t matter) and that was it. I think it’s also quite difficult to determine the exact location of an outlet in advance, or the kitchen planner might need to specify this. But keep in mind, you should be able to access it later if needed.
For the initial electrical installation, leave the cables with sufficient leftover length coming "up from the floor" at a practical location, so they can be extended and connected where needed during kitchen installation. In our case, the underground conduit for the range hood comes up from the floor, and we simply left the cables protruding alongside it.

Maybe this still helps: We have a pop-up outlet on the island, one on the side including a switch for the light above the island. Inside the cooking island, there is a hidden outlet each for the dishwasher and oven (both use standard sockets) as well as two phases for the induction cooktop (independent).
