ᐅ Electrical Planning – Essentials – Ideas / Experiences / Tips?

I
ivenh0Hello everyone,
We plan to send out our electrical tender within the next two weeks. Unfortunately, we are not very experienced in this area, so my question is: what are the things you absolutely wouldn’t want to miss?
Things we definitely want to include:
- enough power outlets (about 45 per floor)
- switchable outlets for floor lamps
- individual lamps and spotlights dimmable
- outlets on the exterior facade for the terrace
- an outlet installed in the garden
- power supply to the driveway
Questions:
- Is it possible to control multiple lights with a single switch? I imagine using a push button to turn on ambiance lighting across several lamps.
- Roller shutter/blind control—what is the most cost-effective way to implement this?
- Presence detectors—does this require KNX?
What haven’t we considered so far that has become an absolute must-have these days?
Looking forward to your ideas
Best regards

- Roller shutter / venetian blind control, how can this be implemented cost-effectively?With an open bus system or various proprietary solutions.

- Presence detector, is KNX necessary for this? No, presence detectors are available for most systems, including conventional ones.
Other things that might be considered at first glance:
- Reveal sockets / sockets near windows
- Two-way switches
- Central off function
- Sockets for projectors etc., meaning media equipment
- LAN
- Possibly eaves / facade / path lighting
- Switchable socket for towel radiator
High-voltage power supply to the garage/carport for a future charging station.
Possibly mentioned “media wiring” in the living room, e.g., in-wall speaker cables. I personally removed the projector preparation, as OLED is just starting to become popular and matches screen sizes while already offering better quality. I don’t believe projectors will be common in living rooms in the future, but everyone has to decide that for themselves.
Also, power outlets in window reveals. They don’t look good, and modern decorative items usually have LED lighting with batteries.

garfunkel21 Jul 2018 17:03I installed two power outlets per wall/corner in every room, with three in the living room and plenty in the kitchen.
So far, I’m satisfied with this setup. I also think it’s a good idea to plan ahead in case you want to make some outlets switchable later on, so it’s worth running an extra conductor through the conduit. If you decide to skip conduits, I would still recommend pulling in two extra conductors—you never know when you might need them.
I would also install cable ducts or conduits for a possible future photovoltaic system on the roof.
Having a LAN connection on every floor makes sense to me, but I don’t think every room needs one. For me, Wi-Fi is more than enough.
I would run satellite or TV connections to every room.
If you prepare with enough cabling in the rooms, installing double-pole switches or other fancy setups won’t be a problem later on. So, you don’t need to decide from the start exactly how you want to control everything. Nobody really knows what they’ll suddenly “need” in five years.
I would consider a terrace or balcony as a “room” too and plan switches and power outlets accordingly. Later on, you’ll want to plug in a fan, a radio, maybe an electric grill, some string lights, and so on.
