Hello everyone,

this is my first post, and I hope I’m doing everything right.

We are currently planning our house and would like to have a precast concrete ceiling, possibly as exposed concrete (depending on whether we like the look or not). Our plan is to place the cables for the ceiling lights (surface-mounted spotlights, not recessed lights) along the joints of the ceiling (see the pendant light in the picture). Is it possible to make the cable outlets exactly in these joints, or would that cause problems?
What should be considered in this regard?

Thank you very much in advance

I don’t understand the problem. The cable is not being installed from below into the joint, nor is a slot being cut into the ceiling. Instead, it is laid on the raw subfloor of the floor above and then drilled down at any point (or from below up, to prevent any chipping).

Yes, that should not be a problem

Okay, thanks.
So I don’t need to install any boxes or lay empty conduits in the ceiling before pouring the concrete?

only if you plan to replace the pipe at some point

Well, it never hurts to potentially have some reserves for the future. KNX will be installed in the house anyway. But I’ll consider it first.
