ᐅ Electrical Installation in the Attic or Loft?

Hello everyone,

I’m building a solid brick house, and so far, the electrical cables for each floor have been laid through conduit pipes on the precast concrete floor slabs.
Now the roof structure is finished, and the roof has been covered.

I’m wondering what options there are for running cables in the attic space (not the loft!).

Well, maybe “options” isn’t quite right, since there are countless ways

But what would you recommend / what is the standard approach here?

a) Run cables through conduit pipes under the screed to all locations (this wouldn’t be a problem, I have an opening where I could route all the cables).

b) Run all cables somehow through the roof structure and then bring them out at all locations from the ceiling? This would mean everything would have to go through the drywall and OSB panels of the roof structure.

I’ve attached two pictures to give a better idea of the situation.

Picture ele1 shows a spot where the socket positions are already marked in pink below.

Best regards & have a great weekend,

Yes, exactly, it’s about the upper floor. My architect called it the attic floor.

What do you mean by "If OSB boards are not yet installed, pull a cable in a small loop into place"?

I think I will run everything under the screed. But how do I lay the cables for the lights?

Through the vapor barrier and drywall?

I did attach a photo. There are no boards on the wall yet. So, first place a ring on site.

No, between the battens and OSB boards. It does not need to go through the membrane.

You glued the cables directly onto the vapor barrier? But the drywall sheets are installed on top of that, so wouldn’t they not sit flush because the cables get in the way everywhere?

The cables for the lights are, of course, routed up into the attic space and then brought down.

Yes, exactly.
No, there will be battens installed in between. So from inside to outside: panels – battens – vapor barrier. The panels will later be screwed onto the battens. The battens are about 3-4cm (1¼-1½ inches) thick and provide enough space for the cables.
