Hello everyone,
I am new here and looking for information about IKEA electrical appliances.
My wife and I plan to buy an IKEA kitchen in December.
IKEA offers a 5-year warranty, which sounds good. However, I can’t find any information about the electrical appliances.
We want the ivory-colored Bodbyn kitchen, along with the matching oven and microwave. We also like the built-in dishwasher Enstadt (or whatever it’s called) and the Vindrun extraction hood.
But here’s the question: Are these appliances any good? Or do they break down after a short time? Unfortunately, there’s nothing to be found about this on the internet. So, I’m asking the community. Are you convinced by these appliances, or do you prefer to buy from brand-name manufacturers? Does IKEA’s current offer even come with a lifetime warranty? Or does the lifetime return policy not apply to electrical appliances?

Best regards,
Lepole

In one post, two people complained that with ENASTAENDE, the dishes still remain very wet. If you choose a fully integrated XXL appliance from Siemens/Bosch/Neff with a Vario hinge or an XXL model from Miele, the 80cm (31.5 inches) front panel can be installed without any special tools (please refer to the manufacturers’ drawings).

IKEA appliances are produced by Electrolux (AEG) and Whirlpool (Bauknecht).

I would first look around to see which appliances have the features that are right for me.

I have been using an oven and induction cooktop from IKEA’s Nutid series for six years now, and I am satisfied with both.

The appliances come from two manufacturers: Whirlpool and Electrolux.

Ovens with digital displays are made by Electrolux, while the others are from Whirlpool. Microwaves are from Whirlpool, which, due to numerous patents, makes some of the best microwaves you can buy. Enastände is a discontinued model and has now been replaced by Välgjord, which offers 15 place settings and a cutlery drawer. It is essentially the same platform as the new AEG dishwashers, which are also from Electrolux. AEG presented this model last year at IFA, but I believe the IKEA version does not include satellite spray arms.

As for cooktops, although you didn’t ask, they are supplied by both Whirlpool and Electrolux. Folklig had a model update this summer but lost some booster power, so I wouldn’t recommend it anymore—rather choose one from Electrolux.

A small tip if you’re considering induction: my old Nutid model still had a separate booster button, which I would recommend to everyone. It’s much more convenient than having to scroll through the entire power level scale whenever you want a quick boost.

By the way, Whirlpool/Bauknecht also makes the fastest induction cooktops—they hold a patent on the coil winding technology. Whether it really makes a difference if about 6 liters (1.6 gallons) of pasta water boils in 12 minutes instead of 14 is debatable...

I am satisfied with the refrigerator and the induction cooktop, and the oven serves its purpose. What I would not buy again is a dishwasher (the interior finish/feel seems cheap).

What I also would not buy again are kitchen faucets (they feel loose) and bathroom and kitchen sinks (you have to clean them every three days).

Hello,

A few weeks ago, I planned, ordered, and assembled my first IKEA kitchen myself... Because of the appealing design and the value for money, my partner and I chose the IKEA appliances: a black RUTINERAD oven, the BARMHÄRT ceramic cooktop, and the Hjälpsam built-in dishwasher in the special size of 45cm (18 inches). Many sources confirm that Whirlpool and Bauknecht are the manufacturers of these appliances.

Both the installation and assembly, as well as the packaging, connection, and daily use, are flawless. Of course, I cannot provide long-term experience yet, but the five-year warranty also gives me confidence that IKEA offers convincing quality and that this guarantee is a matter of course. I am really very satisfied with the performance and handling of the appliances, especially the RUTINERAD oven, which performs its functions extremely well every day – various combinations of convection and electric functions make different cooking methods very easy.

If you are interested in the results of my kitchen assembly, just take a look at the experience report I wrote about it:

Wishing you much success and kind regards,

Annika
