Hello,
we are currently undecided about which heating system to install in our future single-family house.
Does anyone have experience with electric heating regarding the initial investment costs and what are the ongoing expenses?

Thank you very much.

Electric heating and energy saving regulations do not align. Electrical energy has the highest primary energy factor compared to other energy sources!
When using a heat pump with an efficiency greater than 4, electrical energy becomes viable. I can also share experience in this regard, but only for water-to-water heat pumps.

First of all, thank you for your response.
We have also considered a heat pump, but our local utility company does not offer a tariff for it. So it is not really worthwhile. There are not many options left then.

Our municipal utilities don’t either; the system must be properly designed and calculated, then it will still be economically viable.

I am a utilities engineer and thus an expert in this field.
Electric heating – only with a heat pump – never otherwise.

Best regards
