Hello,

after 10 years, we are getting tired of the paving and related maintenance. Back then, we filled the joints with gravel. Now, it requires sweeping, scraping out the joints, and so on. Additionally, a green film is slowly forming (see photo).

What do you recommend? Should we sweep in sand? Let the moss grow? Or maybe seal the joints after all?

Thanks a lot

The dried bamboo leaves would bother me much more, even though I prefer a "natural" style at my place. They don’t decompose either, so you’ll still have some of that once your driveway has fully adapted to nature.

Sweep in a seed mix for joints or similar areas and allow it to grow properly.

You can do that, but it contradicts the original idea of leaving the joints deliberately wide and filling them with gravel so that water can drain better and faster there.

However, this goes against the idea of leaving the joints intentionally wide and filling them with gravel to allow water to infiltrate better and faster.
This argument is contradicted by the fact that wider joints tend to become overgrown more easily.

Regarding moss or seeds. What would you recommend?

How much sunlight does it get? That determines what will grow well.

The large area receives sunlight all day. The entrance area is in the shade.
