Hello!

I need to purchase 90 sqm (970 sq ft) of hardwood flooring. The builder will handle the installation, so the difficulty level is not a concern for me (possibly glued down, with underfloor heating). I would prefer a thickness of 10–11 mm (0.4–0.43 inches) due to ceiling height, and I’m looking for wide plank flooring. Probably matte lacquered and easy to maintain (click-lock or floating?), but if possible, it should be sandable 2–3 times. Is two-layer hardwood the only option? The color should be a nice brown-gray tone.

The main question is which brands you would recommend for this. Based on my requirements, which brands would you suggest? Or which brands are generally recommended for quality, durability, and so on?

Thanks and best regards,
Paul

Why not three-layer parquet, which is, for example, 13.5mm (0.53 inches) thick with Haro. Take a look at their website. Otherwise, there are many parquet manufacturers (Parador, Terhürne, etc.), so visit a parquet dealer or timber merchant and get some advice.

Gluing is recommended for underfloor heating; with a flexible adhesive, it can probably be installed throughout.

Ok, where did you order parquet flooring to get a better price? Are there any recommended online stores? Installation is covered by the site manager, I only need to order and have it delivered to him, nothing more.

Hello Paul,

I had the same issue and, after much consideration, decided on terrabraun oak country-style floorboards. The brand is Thede & Witte, and I ordered them online from Eichhorn-Lautertal. I am completely satisfied! They are very durable and have a high-quality appearance. Your builder will also have no trouble installing them, as the engineered wood flooring features a click system for floating installation. Even after a year of heavy use, the floor still looks like new. They are also suitable for underfloor heating – so I would definitely buy this flooring again!

I hope this helps, and best regards!

Hello,

like Wigenheima, I also ordered oak country-style floorboards and am very satisfied with them. As already mentioned, they are durable and suitable for underfloor heating. Highly recommended. I got mine from Rudda.

Hello,

do you probably have photos? I’m planning to order as well and just wanted to get an idea of how country house-style wooden planks fit into an apartment.

Best regards
