Hello everyone.
Is it allowed in Germany to build an earth house by yourself? Earth houses are homes like those seen in The Lord of the Rings.
What regulations do I have to follow, and what costs should I expect when registering telephone, electricity, toilet, water, sewage, and similar services with the city or the relevant authorities?
I would appreciate your answers.
Best regards
Lorenzo

Hello,
From what amount (€) would an architect get involved? Would an architect already participate with a sum of €5000 (the 10% fee would be €500)? Do architects generally accept that?

The square meter figures will be provided later. I’m still not sure how large it will be, it might take a few days.
Best regards

Hello everyone,
The area is 18 m² (194 sq ft) and the construction costs, excluding bathroom fixtures and stove/fireplace, are approximately 100 € - 200 €. Here is a picture of the outline.

Here are some pictures of the earth houses I meant and did not mean.
These are the ones I meant:

Hello again,
Unfortunately, I don’t have an edit option to add anything, so I’m writing my question separately.
Do I need a building permit / planning permission for my 18 sqm (194 sq ft) project, or not? And do I even need an architect for such a project? How much would a building permit cost me?
Best regards
Lorenzo

after admiring a Mandan earth house / Pawnee earth house in Pullman City + Templin,
I am now seriously considering taking on a similar project on my own.
I would estimate the self-build costs for a traditional timber frame structure, about 12 meters (39 feet) in diameter, in a first-class version (electrified/heatable/insulated/ventilated and drained! / windows?) to be roughly €10,000 - €20,000.
I haven’t found much information about this online so far… does anyone know more about it?
...and Lorenzo, such a project is probably less feasible in an urban area, more so in a rural one.
Why a building permit / planning permission...? Then your kid spent the summer holidays getting creative with friends on the intended plot! Simply because a nearby farmer “disposed of/donated” the necessary building materials there by chance.
Best regards from Mike in Lübeck
