ᐅ Drink crates and bottles? Where do you usually store them in your home?

Hello everyone,
We are currently planning our floor plan and are trying to decide whether to include a pantry or not. So far, we have a storage room where we also keep most of our beverages and food supplies. Our second refrigerator is also located there. We find this very practical and would like to keep it that way in the house.
However, it’s not easy to integrate a proper pantry into the floor plan. We have concerns about the utility room because of the heat. It’s probably warmer there than in the rest of the house due to the equipment. That would likely make it less suitable for storing drinks and the refrigerator. We also considered partitioning part of the utility room with a wall to create a pantry. This would fit well in the floor plan, but we wonder if a wall would really keep the separated pantry cool, or if it would just get as warm as the utility room.
How do you manage all your beverage crates and bottles? Where do you store them?
Best regards
Herr Stein

We also have a storage room and tend to keep more supplies because the nearest small shop is 3km (1.9 miles) away and the closest supermarket is 6km (3.7 miles); you don’t just run out for a forgotten pack of pasta.
And with the amount the seven-member caterpillars here gobble up, I would otherwise be grocery shopping every day. 😉

Here, evolution becomes clear. Those who despise storing have lost the old Stone Age gene, while those who value stockpiling have not. They also grill over an open fire, gnaw on a chicken drumstick in hand, and mate on a cowhide. Yes, that's how it is. No matter what the influencer says... K.

This is how it looked last year in the old pantry. Over the winter, we used up all the preserved foods like pumpkin soup, goulash, chicken curry, broths, as well as beetroot, zucchini leaves, pickles, tomato soup, sauces, syrups, jams, and so on. Very practical. But that’s not the reality nowadays. Who has the time to preserve that much food with a full-time job, household chores, gardening, sports, and taking care of children? Others might start feeling guilty and begin preserving dinner for the winter right away...

Others immediately feel guilty and start preserving dinner for the winter on the same day...I think that you enjoy it and it has become a hobby. Some hobbies cost a lot of money, but hopefully this one brings satisfaction, praise, recognition, and even saves household expenses. My sister-in-law spends every free minute sewing patchwork items; compared to that, fiddling with sensory boards seems more rewarding and also more meaningful to me.
Back to the question of whether a pantry is necessary. The name of this room and its location in the house don’t really matter to me. However, every apartment or house should have a space where things can be stored neatly to avoid chaos. I have a small pantry next to the kitchen, a utility room, an attic, a basement, and soon my own study. The downside of having too much storage space is that you tend to hoard, and over the years a lot of clutter accumulates.

.It is clear that she is not doing it out of necessity...
