Hello everyone!
We have a question regarding the house drainage system (conversion of a barn into an apartment), specifically the wastewater pipes for the bathroom and kitchen. We have the option to run the pipes either outside around the house or through the interior. We have gathered several opinions, but they vary greatly. Some say that if possible, it’s definitely better to run them outside, while others ask why not run them inside. The drainage pipes will be connected to the property's own three-chamber system. We are simply unsure which option is best. Running the pipes through the house is naturally much shorter. On the other hand, if maintenance or repairs are needed, having the pipes outside would obviously be much easier.
What are your opinions on this, and, most importantly, why?
Thanks for your help!
Best regards

Is it really more cost-effective to run pipes under the house despite the shorter route? I think it might add extra costs and could balance out financially.

Honestly, I don't know. I think it probably doesn’t make much difference, as you said. We are interested in the whole thing regardless of cost (unless one option is significantly more expensive).
