Hello,

we have decided on a double carport with a shed since our floor plan does not allow for a garage directly attached to the house (due to windows).

As our neighbor has already built a garage on our shared boundary, we would like to construct a 6 x 9 m (20 x 30 ft) carport between their garage and our house.

The advantage would be that, except for the shed, we could forgo side walls, providing optimal protection for the vehicles.

The shed should have the full width of 6 m (20 ft) with a depth of at least 3 m (10 ft), featuring a door to the carport as well as one to the garden, and possibly a small window.

Has anyone here implemented something like this?

Is there a supplier, preferably in the Lower Saxony area, who offers complete solutions for this?

Thank you in advance for your replies!

You are only allowed to build 9 m (30 feet) per property boundary. You have already reached this limit with your carport. The shed would add another 3 m (10 feet), if I understand correctly, and the shed is supposed to be behind the carport. Or is the total length for both together 9 m (30 feet)?

Both together are supposed to be 9 m (30 ft) long. Boundary construction is allowed up to a maximum of 6 x 9 m (20 x 30 ft) here!

Yes, certainly... almost all carport suppliers, whether wood or aluminum, can make this happen for you, for example Siebau, ESB, Brüning, Balzer ...

There are only 2 providers listed in the directory.

I would also be interested in hearing the experiences of individual homeowners.

We were considering something similar, but we always heard costs around 15,000 euros (about $16,000), which is enough to buy a prefabricated garage.

Since the shed of the carport usually stands on the concrete-embedded H-anchors, the space is not particularly suitable as a workshop (air underneath allows mice, rats, cats, etc. to enter).

Can I now place the carport including the shed, with a total size of 6m x 9m (20ft x 30ft), directly on the property line and next to my house?
My neighbor says I need to keep at least 50cm (20 inches) distance from my house or ensure fire protection with a T30 door (garage regulations). Does anyone have experience with this? How much space do I need to leave between his garage and my house for this to be allowed? Would 6m (20ft) not be enough? I would prefer not to leave unnecessary space between the house and the carport...
