ᐅ Dormer height

Hello,

in the development plan I read the following:
"Dormers may not be higher than 1.60 m (5 feet 3 inches) above the roof surface when measured vertically."

I don’t quite understand what this means; I hope someone can help.
Based on sketch a or b? Or something completely different?

Clearly, option a) is more likely, especially since b) would allow for a higher dormer according to the zoning plan. Don’t guess—call the citizen service department of your building authority.
