Hello everyone,
I have another question.
We want to replace the doors in our prefabricated house. However, the wall thickness is only about 6.5cm (2.6 inches), so finding suitable door frames is difficult. I have a contact who installs parquet flooring and also fits doors. Unfortunately, the local manufacturer he works with does not offer door frames that narrow. I did find some options online. Since I would prefer to get the doors themselves through my contact, my question is whether it is possible to simply buy the door frames from a different shop and then source the doors locally? They should be standardized in some way, right? I made sure that the color tone matches (frame: CPL RAL 9016, door according to the catalog: lacquered RAL 9016).
Can these be combined like this, or what else should I consider? If it’s possible, I would order the frames online and have my contact source the doors.
Thanks!

By “connection to the wallpaper,” do you mean that there will be a gap between the frame and the wall that I need to fill with acrylic sealant? So, with the smaller frame, I wouldn’t have that gap? The 65mm (2.6 inches) thickness should actually be consistent everywhere, since it’s a prefabricated house. The wall measured 65mm (2.6 inches) thick at all the points I checked so far.
I meant the joint. Well, if everything fits, all the better. If necessary, just order one first and try it out.

We were advised against acrylic: It looks good for the first year. After that, it yellows and tends to crack. Removing it again is a real hassle. How did you seal the joints then? Or were there no joints at all, or so minimal that you didn’t have to do anything?
Such joints are "maintenance joints" and need to be renewed. Each case must be assessed individually. It also makes a difference whether the joint is 1mm or 8mm (0.04 inches or 0.3 inches). There are many arguments both for and against.
