Hello,

perhaps someone has already done this.

I would like to replace the standard door latch with one that has a small lever to set it to open/closed. This would allow the front door to be opened without a key by simply pushing it. I think you know what I mean. It should not be electrical, just operated by the lever.

Is this always possible? What should be considered?
I have a front door from Kebotherm and a continuous locking strip.

Maybe someone can share their experience.

Thanks! 🙂

That should be possible to retrofit. A joiner or carpenter should be able to sell or install it for you.

Thank you. I have contacted the manufacturer by email, but it might take some time before I get a response...

What exactly is a building joiner? Or rather, what does he do differently compared to a regular joiner?

Well, a construction carpenter earns their living on building sites, working with windows, doors, stairs, and so on. A cabinetmaker, on the other hand, builds kitchen furniture, built-in wardrobes, and more. A joiner is responsible for roof trusses and similar structures, as well as drywall partitions.

What you are looking for is called a door latch, and every locksmith carries this type of item. Alternatively, nowadays you can find these almost everywhere.

Yes, exactly something like that. But there must be differences in height and width or depth, right, or is there only one version?

I would have to unscrew the continuous strike plate, and then it should be possible to replace it.
