Hello everyone,
We are currently in the planning phase and have come across an example of a carport with a roof extension that we really like. Our questions are:
1. Is it possible to build something like this without thermal bridges (for KfW40+ standard)?
2. What kind of costs can we roughly expect?
Best regards

Thank you for your response.
Regarding the thermal bridge, I assumed that the overhang comes from the masonry, possibly as an extended floor slab. Therefore, my assumption was that it is a relatively large thermal bridge. There are also no columns, so if it stands freely, it would have to be self-supporting. Are the high costs due to this?

Baumfachmann23 Jan 2018 14:16I had a carpentry company build a carport with a covered entrance, measuring 10 x 4.60 meters (32.8 x 15.1 feet), with posts sized 16 x 16 cm (6.3 x 6.3 inches).
They used laminated timber. The roof is flat, made of rubber, walkable, with a clearance height of 2.20 meters (7.2 feet) at the lowest point. It includes gutters and a metal fascia.
The price was 10,300€ with a 3% discount for early payment. This includes assembly. Painting was done by myself.
Get a quote from a carpentry company. They often have really good ideas.
