Hello everyone,
I hope you can help me. We keep having problems with our construction company because, among other things, invoices are issued incorrectly. For example, the prefabricated ceiling was delivered, and the invoice was issued with a 5-day payment term, but the concrete for the ceiling, including formwork, was only completed 4 weeks later.
Now the upper floor has been built, and the construction company insists it is finished, but a number of bricks as well as the reinforced concrete ring beam are still missing. Since I am writing a blog about everything and of course do not want to accuse anyone unfairly, I would like to know whether the reinforced concrete ring beam for the upper floor—that is, the exterior walls, interior walls, and gable walls—belongs to the upper floor or already to the roof structure?
I look forward to your answers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Good evening,

are you sure that you don’t mean the ring beam(s)? A wall plate belongs to the category of prefabricated houses.

Whether a ring beam is necessary depends on various factors. If it must be installed in your house for load transfer, it is part of the masonry trade.

Good morning,

Thank you, Building Expert, for your response. We are building a solid masonry house, but we still often refer to the "Rähm." I also did some Googling, and the term "ring beam" came up... As you can see, we actually don’t know much about this.
I’m attaching a few pictures, so maybe you can answer my question better.
Thanks and best regards

These are the bearing supports for the collar beams, including the concrete knee wall supports, which are already prepared. This is part of the structural carpenter’s scope of work.

We also installed a ring beam above all interior walls on the first floor to prevent cracks later on.
