I recently heard about Gesundfarbe by Rhenocoll from one of the painters who gave us a quote. Does anyone know about it? I’m quite health-conscious, especially with small children in the house, so I think it could be beneficial in terms of pollutants and such. Thank you very much.

Caspar202010 Aug 2017 06:40I don’t understand how this paint could be considered healthy. Biocides shouldn’t be in a standard paint anyway. That’s just green labeling.
Nevertheless, this paint has a VOC content of 27g/l (27g/l); the EU limit is 30g/l (30g/l).
In comparison, Caparol Indeko Plus has less than 1g/l (1g/l).

Biocides do not belong in regular paint anyway. However, "regular" paint does contain them to ensure storage stability.

Caspar202010 Aug 2017 10:23To clarify: There should be no biocides in coatings related to mold prevention and similar purposes.
Caparol indeko plus or Sto sil or Sto sil premium, for example, do not contain biocides for this purpose.
What would definitely bother me about this health-friendly paint from rhenocoll is the "high" VOC content: 27g (0.95 oz), even though the paint itself is marketed as biocide-free.
