Hello, we are currently looking for a cost-effective way to pave our driveway, which is about 30m (98 feet) plus the courtyard (total approx. 300sqm (3,230 sq ft)). Using paving stones would be too expensive since we would have to hire someone to do it.

I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with Elastopave or resin-bound gravel and can provide rough prices per sqm (sq ft)?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

You have chosen a cost-effective option with the resin-bound gravel. For 300 sqm (a total of 300 square meters), I would estimate a total price of around 30,000 to 50,000 euros, including extensive ground preparation work. Online, you can also find similar prices ranging from 50 to 100 euros per sqm (plus ground preparation).

Yes, Elastopave was just the first one we found. We are not tied to this brand.

It is more expensive than asphalt and paving. I once saw a comparison in a road construction magazine.

The earthworks and ground preparation are at least as complex as for paving, if not more. The subsoil must be able to absorb water.
The stone carpet, including stones, primer, and binder, is more costly than paving, gravel, and sand.

Okay, the more I research, the more I come to the same conclusion. Thanks for the reply. Looks like we’ll stick with gravel after all.

I would stay as well, even if the money is tight or there isn’t enough time to do it. Ours is also just gravelled and will remain that way for another year.
