vega81Good evening everyone,
Our bathroom won’t be very large, and my girlfriend wants or needs to have a bathtub. We’re now considering a narrow 170 x 70 cm (67 x 28 inches) model. My girlfriend is about 163 cm (64 inches) tall and of average build. Would a narrow tub like this still be considered comfortable as a regular bathtub, or does it feel very cramped? Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to see one in person yet, so I’m asking here.
I will hardly ever use it myself—showering is enough for me. We also have two children, aged 6 and 8, who might still shower together for a while—that’s just an additional detail.
For example:
Kaldewei Classic Duo rectangular bathtub white with pearl effect
or
Kaldewei Cayono & Cayono Star rectangular bathtub white with pearl effect

I had it in the bathroom of my terraced house. I am 165 cm (65 inches) tall and weighed/weigh 58 kg (128 lbs). I was never fully submerged in water. I hated bathing.
We later replaced it with an asymmetrical oval tub, really stylish, measuring 160 x 100 cm (63 x 39 inches) with a height 5 cm (2 inches) taller. We were then able to bathe together in it.

170 x 70 cm (67 x 28 inches) is not narrow but almost standard (170 x 75 cm / 67 x 30 inches). It would be too small for me, but for a person who is 163 cm (64 inches) tall, it will be completely adequate. However, it should be noted in general that not all bathtubs with the same external dimensions provide the same bathing experience, so I would recommend actually "testing it out" before deciding.
Thanks for your opinions.
We actually found two 170x70cm (67x28 inches) tubs at the hardware store and tried them out! And as K1300S already pointed out, an external width of 70cm (28 inches) does not always mean the same internal width. In any case, the 70cm (28 inches) wide tub works for my girlfriend; it’s a compromise when we want a bathtub in our "small" bathroom.
