Hochglanz0125 Mar 2015 12:25Hello,
we are currently planning our IKEA kitchen, and the countertop is a very important and key topic. 😀
Does anyone have experience with a quartz stone countertop from the Swedish furniture "giant" 😕?
I’m looking for any kind of feedback; it’s hardly or not at all available online.
Construction?
Quality?
Your price?
Everyday handling?
Color?
And much more... I appreciate any feedback.
Best regards, Hochglanz

Hochglanz0128 May 2015 07:37Hello,
After weeks of research, I couldn’t find anyone online who has this kind of countertop or could share first-hand experience. So now I want to share what I discovered at Ikea on Tuesday:
We were looking at kitchens again (nothing has been purchased yet). One of the first options was a country-style kitchen with a work island. On it was a black quartz countertop. And what did my eyes see? Several long scratches (at least 30cm (12 inches)). This new system has only been on the market since last September.
Then we tested it with a metal tape measure (which has a metal clip at the end that is somewhat sharp). And lo and behold, there were scratches there too. Not as extensive as the ones we initially saw, but permanent nonetheless.
We were (and still are) shocked; under no circumstances do we want such a material.
The decision was made on the spot: Granite.
Regards,
Hochglanz
