I have read about liquid woodchip wallpaper several times now. It can simply be applied with a roller. I think it would work well for the ceiling in our new build. Does anyone here have experience with this from the forum?

I saw it at a friend’s place, where they used this paint above the tiles in the bathroom.
The most important thing they told me was to stir it well so that the particles mix evenly.
I can’t say anything about the application, as their father did that.

I can’t recommend it... if you want to have something different on the wall, be prepared to spend about a week per room to get that material off the walls...

What’s the savings? Primer is necessary anyway. The walls need to be skim coated as well. Just apply dispersion paint straight on, or stick on a textured wallpaper and paint over that. Karsten

I have often read that people apply paint directly onto the wall. I wonder why this is done— to save money? However, this could backfire. As mentioned before, removing the paint later could be quite a lengthy process, and in extreme cases, the wall might even need to be replastered.

Therefore, I would also suggest first applying woodchip or scrap wallpaper to the wall and then painting over it.

I have worked with this material before in a 14m² (150 sq ft) room. I can say it is quite messy, and you need to apply two coats before it looks acceptable. I would not recommend using it.
