If you no longer like an item you bought at IKEA, simply bring it back with your receipt or proof of purchase, and we will refund the full purchase price!

I would like to share my experience with the OTROLIG induction cooktop. Our whole family had trouble operating the cooktop. At first, we thought it was defective. After our electrician found nothing wrong, we returned it to Ikea Brunnthal and decided to give the cooktop a second chance. That was our mistake.

The exchange was a complete disaster. There were only new employees at Brunnthal who were unfamiliar with the process. The exchange took us two hours. The obviously new employee told us she could only provide a store credit. Here is where we made another mistake. Because we wanted to take the same cooktop again, we accepted the store credit, which we immediately used again at the checkout.

Unfortunately, the replacement induction cooktop behaved exactly the same, so after some time, we wanted to return it for good. But don’t expect to get your money back, as Ikea’s advertisements promise! Since we had previously only received a store credit, we were given another store credit again. And if you read the "promises" on the posters carefully, that is actually lawful.

I have been an Ikea customer for many years and have spent several thousand euros there, but this experience has put Ikea off my list for the time being. Well, almost — we still have to use that store credit!

I always use the Family payment card. So far, it has never been a problem to refund the amount back to the card account.
