Hello everyone,
are there any experiences or alternatives regarding this?My personal experience with RWE-SH has been entirely positive.
I am completely satisfied with the system.

WithWhat components did you install? Was it installed by RWE’s partner?
I’m also interested in the costs—how much did everything cost.
Best regards and thanks, MaJu
Hi MaJu,
I have had the RWE-SH system since 2012.
Installed are:
- Radiator thermostats (we don’t have underfloor heating, but there is a distributor available for that from SH)
- Several surface-mounted sockets
- Several light switches/buttons
- Buderus integration for the heating system and thermal solar system
- Smartphone/mobile access
- Sunrise and sunset app
- Virtual occupants
Future plans:
- Roller shutter control (as I gradually electrify the shutters, everything except the motors is already prepared)
- Integration of the solar system
- Surface-mounted dimmers
- Water leak warning system (should be available soon)
- Flush-mounted sockets / light switches / dimmers (the dimmers are currently not good, so I’m waiting; also planning to switch to Gira covers because I unfortunately used Jung products...)
- Miele washing machine / dishwasher with app integration
- Window sensors on the ground floor + programming a simple alarm system (using one or two RWH-SH smoke detectors, which can also be repurposed for this)
- Indoor monitoring with cameras on the ground floor
Not planned:
- Electric front door lock
The installation is so trivial and simple that I didn’t need anyone from RWE. Only the app is not optimal, but I’m sure something new and much more modern will come.
I don’t remember the exact costs anymore. I got the starter package very cheaply (I think around 160 euros; base station, one thermostat, one switch). Then I kept buying more little things over the months, and when I moved into the house, I purchased a bit more. I estimate all together it cost well under 1000 euros.
Of course, this is not comparable with KNX & My Gekko. But it is much more affordable. It does what it’s supposed to do. The heating integration is very good because the heating curve is controlled precisely and efficiently based on feedback from the thermostats. They claim it saves 6%, but I can’t confirm as I don’t have a comparison.
For me personally, the RWE-SH is enough; it reliably does what I need. I don’t require more. My demands here are purely basic functions.
Best regards,
Thorsten
