ᐅ Do IKEA Faktum cabinets fit with the new IKEA LIDINGÖ doors?

moebeloHello,
Do current doors fit cabinets from the 1990s without any modifications? Does this also apply to corner cabinets? Regarding the drawers, I found a note while researching that in the past, the bottom panel was inserted into a routed edge on the inside of the drawer front. Apparently, this is no longer the case today, so the entire drawer might need to be replaced. What about the fittings – the position of hinge drillings, etc.?
Has anyone here had experience with such a retrofit and can offer tips on what to watch out for?
Best regards from someone whose wife does not want a new kitchen...

IKEA-Experte25 Nov 2011 10:14Hello, the carcasses in my kitchen from 1996 are the same as those used today. Basically, everything should fit.
If you don’t want to replace the drawers along with the fronts, then the groove for the bottom panel would need to be milled. Since the very old drawers ran terribly, you will probably want to replace them anyway.
If you have a 50cm (20 inch) wide drawer, you won’t be able to get a new front for it. Unfortunately, this size was discontinued years ago. The hinge drillings have not changed.

Wow, you put a lot of effort into the article about soft-closing – thank you very much. Now I’m reasonably confident that converting the fittings won’t be a disaster. 🙂
We still have the old Hettich hinges installed and will probably replace them at the same time – at a unit price of 2.69 EUR for a "Blum cup hinge with BLUMOTION 110°" from the online marketplace or McBeschlaege.de, this is still the smallest cost factor in the kitchen upgrade…
Best regards

Nayla_106825 Nov 2011 18:54Customers often come in after 10–15 years wanting to replace their fronts, which hasn’t been a problem so far. As the Ikea expert mentioned, 50 cm (20 inches) drawers are no longer available individually. They only come in sets of three as pull-out units or as wire baskets, which, however, are not attached to the front panel.
One thing to keep in mind if you want to keep your old drawers is that the drilling pattern has changed, so you will need to transfer the old drill holes onto the new drawer fronts.
