I would recommend a simple room divider. These come in many variations and shapes, ranging from a shelving unit to an additional wall. Half-height walls can also divide a space nicely. We have something similar in our living room with a stud frame and drywall panels, but that was a full wall, so the room could basically be used as two separate rooms. However, I don’t think that’s exactly what you wanted, right?

Maier GmbH19 Oct 2008 16:49I find it practical to set up a privacy screen in such cases. It also provides a visual separation. I did this in my bathroom because it is quite large.

Maier GmbH19 Oct 2008 16:53One could also consider placing flower boxes to create a low "wall" – with a passage, of course. I can easily imagine that. Or maybe some palm trees along the edge.

zimmerone20 Oct 2008 23:01Unfortunately, the room divider has already been suggested several times, as it was also my first thought. It is indeed a very quick and practical solution, and it can also be used as storage. For my living room, I would probably choose this solution.
