Good morning,

I am currently planning the shower enclosures for my two bathrooms. The bathroom in the attic has a ceiling height of 210cm (83 inches). I want to install a corner shower enclosure with a walk-in, floor-to-ceiling design.

What distance from the ceiling would you recommend? Can I install a shower enclosure that is 200cm (79 inches) tall, or would this cause issues with air circulation, meaning I should choose a lower height?

I look forward to hearing about your experiences! Thank you.

With such a low ceiling, the plans are helpful to evaluate this. I once had a shower enclosure with a height of 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in). No water splashes out from the top.

It is best to plan the entire bathroom, not just the shower enclosure.

Thank you very much! Unfortunately, I don’t have any plans available at the moment because we are buying the property from a developer. What specific information do you need?

Actually, my concern is less about the issue of water splashing out and more about the appearance, in case the shower enclosure is lower than 200 cm (79 inches).

Actually, it’s about the residual moisture drying out through air circulation so that mold cannot develop.

Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. Is there a general rule of thumb for how much clearance to plan between a corner shower enclosure and the ceiling? The shower’s floor area measures 91x107 cm (36x42 inches).

Which builder constructs a room with a ceiling height of 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in)? Or is that under a sloped ceiling? Then you still have areas where the ceiling is higher.

You are building a house with a builder and have no plan for the bathroom?
