Hi,

we are currently unsure about the maximum spacing allowed for screws on drywall panels.
Is there a standard for this, or can you place screws according to your own judgment?
Of course, the panels should be securely fixed, but the fewer screws used, the less filling work is needed 🙂
Thanks.

It also depends on whether it is a wall or if the gypsum boards are to be fixed to the ceiling. For the ceiling, I choose a spacing of 15 cm (6 inches), and for the wall about 25 cm (10 inches), and this has worked well so far. You have to do some filling anyway.

I also believe that 15 cm (6 inches) spacing is too close. I usually place my screws in drywall at about 20 cm (8 inches) apart. This provides a secure hold.
