Hello dear forum,
we can’t decide whether to choose the dining table measuring 2 m x 1 m (6.6 ft x 3.3 ft) or 2.20 m x 1 m (7.2 ft x 3.3 ft).
We would actually prefer if there were 3 chairs on each side and none at the head or foot of the table. However, the chairs can’t be pushed under the table because the table legs get in the way. That’s why we’re unsure if the table with the chairs will take up too much space. The chairs are 60 cm (24 inches) deep. The table is positioned so the chairs are on the west and east sides.
What do you think??

I need more solid arguments, please. My wife is against it!
I think she’s worried about possible instability or something like that. Ideally, she would prefer a rustic log table... The table is completely stable, as if it were made from a single solid top. The panels are mounted under the table on rods, and you release the lock using a lever, then slide the top forward with one leg. Depending on your needs, you fold up one or both panels and then slide everything back together. You don’t have any extra, obstructive table legs or any wobbly parts. It’s rock-solid and stable. When extended, there are a few grooves in the tabletop, but you can cover them with a tablecloth or just accept them before folding it back. It doesn’t bother us at all. Best investment.

I often don’t like the look of extendable dining tables. But this one looks quite nice. Do you maybe have a link for me or a specific name? I have no idea if it’s still available. That was about 4 years ago. It was probably from Woods&Trends and called Venezia. We chose the oak version.

Gelbwoschdd17 Jul 2020 19:45I need to correct myself. The table is only 1.80 meters (5 feet 11 inches) without extension and can be extended to 2.80 meters (9 feet 2 inches). However, it could have been made larger. But 1.80 meters (5 feet 11 inches) is plenty enough for 6 people.
We are having a table custom made. Chalet model P with an ultra-light U-shaped frame, 2.40m x 1m (7 ft 10 in x 3 ft 3 in) plus 2 extension leaves.
So, an oak herringbone table with a black metal frame and black U-shaped legs.
It’s one of the things I’m especially looking forward to in the new house.
