Hi,

there are significant price differences between buying tiles from a specialized tile supplier or from a hardware store.

We would tend to go with the hardware store since the construction specification lists 20€/m2 (20 €/sq ft).

What are the differences between them?

Best regards & thanks

Decor patterns, their repetition/frequency, sorting (mixing available sizes), surface texture, rectification/calibration for narrow grout lines, ... were mentioned.
If we don't find any of this significant enough, then please raise that point instead of trolling here.

If I knew, I would have informed the original poster.

Rectification was mentioned but not addressed! Are there different quality classes or a standardized measurement?

Are there breakage classes or how else did you choose aside from the appearance?

@ypg I’m not trying to start trouble, but here the discussion was only about wood-look tiles and that’s what I reacted to. I want information about tile quality and how to identify it.

Then just ask.

Basically, this is more about the difference between the (inexpensive) DIY store tile.

Qualities such as abrasion resistance classes, frost resistance, and slip resistance ratings are also provided by affordable tiles from DIY stores, at levels sufficient for private households. The weak point of a tiled floor is usually the grout, which is relatively soft. Karsten
