We would like to build a single-family house on our undeveloped plot located behind other properties, and we are currently gathering information about the additional costs.
Is it possible to estimate the connection costs (such as electricity, water, telecommunications) per meter?
Our plot is about 30 meters (100 feet) from the street, where the utility lines are presumably located.
Can you say that the total cost will be a certain amount per meter?
I found a figure online of 1000 euros per meter plus an additional connection fee of 20,000 euros.
That would bring the total to around 50,000 euros.
Is this a realistic estimate?
Good luck!

We are about 30 meters (100 feet) away from the street, where the main lines are probably located.
Can you say that, overall, it will cost a certain amount per meter?
I found a figure of 1000 euros per meter plus approximately 20,000 euros for the connection charges.
That would put the total at about 50,000 euros.

Good luckHello,in Cologne, it was indeed about 1000 € per meter.

To clarify, here’s an example:
- The house is located directly on the street and the connection costs 20,000 euros.
- The house is 30 meters (100 feet) away — does that mean it will cost 30,000 + 20,000 euros, or 30,000 euros in total to connect?

What I mean is... here’s an example:
- The house is located right by the street and the connection fee is 20,000 euros
- The house is 30 meters (100 feet) away → would the connection then cost 30,000 + 20,000 euros or 30,000 euros total? I’m guessing it’s the latter, but you should get 1-2 quotes for this, as it varies not only between federal states but also between companies, even if they are from the same district.
