Hello everyone,
we own a detached semi-detached house that was completed two years ago. The neighboring house is still for sale and has not been built yet.
I am wondering if the party wall is properly compacted/sealed... Can anyone provide some information on this? See photo...
Thank you in advance.

Insulation absorbing water = bad, because wet insulation loses its insulating properties and can rot (depending on the material).
There should have been weather protection in place until the second half is constructed.
OT:
It’s really unwise to build semi-detached houses (oxymoron ) with multiple builders involved. That’s the general contractor/developer business.

Probably fleece-faced mineral wool, just a guess. On top of that, battens. Neither handle water well. All one owner, but two years have already passed

The house wall was poorly constructed here. Otherwise, I don’t see any issues or major difficulties...

fleece-laminated stone wool, just a guess. Then battens on top. Neither of them are friendly to water. Yes, it looks like that to me too. But also just a guess.

It seems to have gotten even worse here: nowadays, some developers apparently build semi-detached houses in two phases, gradually as the sales progress. Just imagine that with entire rows of terraced houses *LOL*

No, it is not.Put another way, what advantages does it offer?
Either it is predetermined that the two halves must look identical, or if not, it results in visual inconsistency and/or poor workmanship. We have such cases here (built between 1972 and 1975), where construction, sealing, and adjustments don’t align properly with the party wall... that just doesn’t hold up.
