Hello,

we will be covering most of our house (about 250 m² (2700 sq ft)) with design/vinyl flooring.
We talked to two professionals and, of course, received two different opinions:
One clearly recommends a floating installation with a click system.
The other strongly favors fully gluing it down.

Neither of them could really explain convincingly why “their” method is better.

So the question is: what would you recommend?

Thanks and best regards

Both of the specialist stores recommended bonding for us.

Well, they obviously know what they are talking about...

I have some experience with this as well. Vinyl planks and sheet vinyl glued over underfloor heating are state of the art and pose no problems. It can become wavy if the adhesive doesn’t hold due to too much residual moisture in the screed or because the underfloor heating supply temperature is too high. However, the supply temperature would have to be extremely high for this to happen, around 50°C (122°F) or more. Karsten

I would prefer glued flooring. In my opinion, just walking on it gives a completely different and higher-quality feeling.

Our vinyl flooring on the upper floor (underfloor heating) will also be fully glued down. This was also the clear recommendation from the expert!
