Good morning everyone,
There has already been a lot of discussion about different types of design flooring. We saw the Modular One from Parador at friends’ houses and were very impressed. However, there are very mixed opinions about this flooring, so I wanted to check if there are also more “premium” floors from other manufacturers? What are your experiences, and which brands would you recommend?
Since many criticize the use of “plastic,” here are our reasons for choosing this type of flooring: We currently live in an apartment with prefinished parquet. The apartment is 5 years old and we are very careful to avoid dents and scratches. Still, the floor is quite delicate and soft, so we want to find an alternative because of our very young children. Tiles are not an option due to the lack of “warmth underfoot.” Maybe when the kids are older, we can switch back to parquet, at least in the living room. I actually found that idea quite appealing.
We imagine a slightly lightened oak tone, but not a whitewashed color.
I would appreciate your opinions, tips, criticism, and suggestions.
Best regards

Funny guy. I wonder if his employer sees it the same way 😀

If you’ve “fallen in love” with this flooring: congratulations. Is that irony..?
I’m not exactly in love with the floor, but what’s wrong with it? No plasticizers, no PVC?

Most vinyl floors are flexible, ours included. Well, I’ve seen many floors where you can bend the planks. But the one we saw recently is as hard as a solid board, no bending possible.
We won’t be installing it ourselves either, lacking the necessary DIY skills 🙂

Am I reading irony..?No, not at all. I would never install vinyl flooring in my home and I don’t like it. However, that doesn’t mean I judge people who choose vinyl flooring in any way. I know that making decisions can be difficult for many people, and the confusion caused by all the opinions online doesn’t always go away. If that is the floor you decide on and you are happy with it, I think that’s great because you come across as very genuine here, and I’m simply glad for you.Hutchinson123 schrieb:
We are currently installing Parador Basic 4.3 (click vinyl) throughout the entire house and are very satisfied.
The floor is definitely quieter than laminate, which is probably due to its approximately 40-50% higher specific weight.
We paid €26 per square meter (about $26 per square yard) plus impact sound insulation.
We had ModularOne in mind as well but decided against it because it needs to be cut with a saw.
The Basic 4.3 can be scored with a utility knife and then snapped apart.
Since we are fitting the entire house with it (except for storage rooms and bathrooms),
this is a significant advantage.
I’m still considering whether to apply an additional sealant for increased durability. Are you still happy with your vinyl flooring?

Yes, that’s us.
It’s everywhere except in the bathrooms and the utility room.
So far, four months after moving in, no problems.
But we are very careful and take good care of the floor.
So, with us, it doesn’t have to endure much wear.
There is a runner in the hallway, shoes are not allowed inside the house, and we don’t drag furniture around. The dining chairs even have little socks on their legs 🙂
We still really like the look.
We’re already looking forward to fitting the stair treads with the adhesive version in the same decor.
Best regards,
Tobi

You can find these in all sorts of versions from Jeff Bazos. Just pay attention to the diameter of the chair leg.
They’re more like knee-high socks, so they’re folded down 😉
A great solution for today’s chairs with often very thin and angled legs.
