about a year ago we bought a house that has several external venetian blinds (also known as louvered blinds or venetian shutters) installed. One of them is on the terrace, approximately 3.80 x 2.20 m (w x h) (12.5 x 7.2 ft). The drive motor is from Geiger, with drive shafts connected on both sides inside the motor.
During the last time we lowered it, we accidentally left a toy in the way, which caused the blind to hang about 30-40 cm (12-16 inches) up on one side. The next day, when we raised it, the slats were now crooked/bent. Raising it again didn’t fix the problem, and now the blind is stuck roughly halfway up the window and doesn’t move at all. Neither the slat tilting nor the up/down movement works. The motor can be heard running, but the two shafts inside the motor do not turn.
Would anyone have advice on this?
Also happy to get recommendations for a service partner in the Niederrhein area.
Many thanks,
Frank

The external blinds are approximately 1.5 years old. Warranty claims are unlikely to be fulfilled as the builder is insolvent.
The cladding (brick slips) has been installed flush with the window frame, contrary to building regulations, so the cladding cannot be easily removed, making access difficult.
