I would like to add that besides the material, the adhesive layer is also crucial: permanent adhesive vinyl films offer better adhesion but are more difficult to remove later without residues. Those who want to make occasional changes should look for repositionable films with silicone adhesive.

Cleaning is essential. Additionally, I do not recommend roughening the back of the film before applying it, as it only helps to a limited extent on smooth surfaces and can reduce adhesion. Instead, careful, bubble-free application using a squeegee is more effective.

One more tip regarding long-term protection: a matte laminate protective layer over the film can make the surface more durable and protect against wear, especially in high-traffic areas.
