Hello,

we are planning a two-family house with 240 sqm (2,583 sq ft) and are considering the following heating options:

-Standard Brötje – Heat Pump System Complete package consisting of:
Air-to-water heat pump Split-K, up to 10.9 kW with 220 l (58 gallons) integrated hot water storage tank, electric heating element, 100 l (26 gallons) buffer tank, and commissioning by factory service

Heating capacity at A7/W35 (kW) 10.9
COP at A7/W35 4.2
Electrical power consumption at A7/W35 (kW) 2.57
COP according to BAFA list
A-7 / W35 2.46
A2 / W35 3.10
A10 / W35 4.45
Noise level indoor 52 dB, outdoor 65 dB

- Heat Pump Dimplex System M Comfort 12 kW Hot water storage 220 l (58 gallons)
Additional cost €950

Dimensions indoor unit (W x H x D) 600 x 1400 x 750 mm (24 x 55 x 30 inches)
Dimensions outdoor unit (W x H x D) 850 x 1230 x 600 mm (33 x 48 x 24 inches)
Weight indoor / outdoor unit 171 kg (377 lbs) / 98 kg (216 lbs)
Sound power level outdoor (normal operation/reduced) 55 dB(A) / 54 dB(A)
Sound power level indoor 45 dB(A)
Sound pressure level indoor at 1 m 34 dB(A)
Connection voltage (power supply heat pump) / fuse 3/N/PE ~ 400 V (50 Hz) / C 13 A
Connection voltage (control voltage) 1/N/PE ~ 230 V (50 Hz)
Heating capacity A7/W35 / COP 11.0 kW / 4.7
Heating capacity A2/W35 / COP 8.6 kW / 3.8
Heating capacity A-7/W35 / COP 7.0 kW / 2.9

(Smart Grid Ready)

- Gas condensing boiler Weishaupt Thermo Condens WTC 15 AH-PEA complete package with gas condensing boiler WTC-15A, hydraulic set, mixing group NW 25, expansion tank 105 l (28 gallons), shut-off valve, switching valve, flue gas system. Solar system package F2 8550/15 consisting of energy storage WES 910 A C, 5 x flat plate collectors K 6 with gross area 12.55 sqm (135 sq ft), roof mounting, flexible pipe, pump group, solar controller, installation kit for hot water,
with solar system for hot water and heating support
Additional cost €3600 + gas connection fees

We lean towards the Dimplex heat pump because it has better performance values than the Brötje, and gas involves significantly higher additional costs.

However, the Brötje qualifies for a €1500 subsidy because it is modulating.
For the Dimplex, only €1300 (fixed speed) is available.

What is better?
Is my assessment correct, or how would you evaluate this?

The Brötje is extremely loud according to the data! 65 dB!

Gas too high additional costs

I suspect this is mainly due to the solar thermal system. Ask your energy consultant if it is possible to proceed without solar thermal. This might make the choice more difficult.
