Hello everyone, we initially assumed that we would install an intercom doorbell with a network connection. In the meantime, we have installed Eufy cameras in other areas, so now we will also install an Eufy camera at the entrance, which makes the network cable unnecessary. Due to the different locations, we cannot hide the cable behind the cover plate either. Would you cut the cable, or are there any alternatives?

We have deactivated our old doorbell and, due to insufficient wires on the other side of the door, installed a video intercom system. I had a nice metal nameplate printed to replace the old doorbell.

If you don’t already have one, I would probably install a flush-mounted box and place the nameplate or street name with house number, or something similar, on it. This way, the cable remains available.

If needed, the plate could even be illuminated with LEDs.
