We are currently facing the dilemma of not knowing whether the floor and door combination shown in the photo might clash. What do you think? I’m quite good at configuring cars, but I find it difficult when it comes to the interior design of our house. I really like the doors, although white ones would probably be more neutral. However, white doors always tend to look like cheap plastic ones.

Showroom with solid wooden door and metal handle, in front of it a wooden ramp on the carpeted floor.

I think it looks very nice. 🙂 However, I am completely unable to configure cars. 😀

I like wood colors, and I really appreciate it when not everything is too perfectly matched. There will probably be comments soon saying it looks terrible. You can’t go wrong, though—it’s just a matter of personal taste.

It’s not for me. You often see classic prefabricated staircase designs with oak vinyl, and I think that just doesn’t work. I always say, if you’re going to do it differently, do it properly different. I find your combination awful, but as you can see, others like it 🙂

What do you suggest then? White doors?

For example, or light gray tones. It’s completely a matter of personal taste and also needs to match the walls. Or a different floor, because I don’t really like this one either 🙂 I’m more of a classic light oak fan. The one in the picture looks too much like a 1970s rustic oak wall unit to me when used over a large area.

No, that doesn't fit at all.
White doors (classic style) or maybe with moldings or similar, possibly slightly tinted. Also fine as a paneled door.

That's my taste. But I would also pair it with light-colored floors.
