ᐅ Danish or Scandinavian Windows

Hello fellow building enthusiasts,

Does anyone have experience with Danish or Scandinavian-style windows?

I’m referring to windows that open outward and are typically installed flush with the exterior facade. These are quite common in northern Germany as well. For example, the House Timm in Husum, winner of the 2018 Houses Award, uses these windows. They look very elegant.

We’re curious about the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the costs of such windows. Of course, they would be installed without any external cladding like external blinds or roller shutters.

Often more delicate, wood-aluminum constructions; flower pots can remain in place when opening. Otherwise, no advantages—you look outside through them just like with local ones.

They are from Velfac. I have not seen them in person yet.

We came across this company. However, we currently see the major disadvantage that the sunshade has to be installed on the interior side...
