Good morning everyone,
We have anthracite-colored vinyl-clad uPVC windows on the outside.
Since our contractors behaved like bull in a china shop (their exact words: “This is a construction site, it’s normal to have damage on the uPVC windows and glass! Uh, yeah. We could really lose it”), we ended up with quite a few damages to our uPVC windows.
Inside, there are many scratches on the frames, cuts in the plastic, and three windows are scratched. On the outside, our windows are anthracite vinyl-clad. In many places, the vinyl cladding is so damaged that the white uPVC underneath is visible.
Does anyone have any experience with this, especially regarding damaged vinyl cladding?
I have already searched online and found that there are companies that can reapply vinyl cladding on site.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much
Best regards
Katja

No, we haven’t paid yet. At the moment, of course, no one wants to take responsibility.
The scratches on the windows occurred during the application of the exterior plaster. When the scaffolding was dismantled, they apparently dragged metal poles along the ground-floor windows (scratches resembling claw marks, on the other window many small, deep, spot-like scratches like stone chips).
I will now get quotes for all the repairs myself. The company we bought our windows from is unfortunately refusing to assist us any further because we haven’t paid the remaining balance yet. However, they already delivered some windows with damages (damaged protective film) and still expect full payment... I honestly have nothing more to say about that.

No, we haven’t paid yet. Who do you need to pay? The window installer, or are you working with a general contractor?

So you should contact the plasterer/painter. The window installer did not cause these damages.
But how can you prove it?
